- Arts
in Education – our
biggest program! The Navarro Council of the Arts ensures
that each child in Navarro county grades Pre K-12th will experience
all the spectrums of the arts including dance, visual arts,
theater,
music etc. regardless of race or socio-economic status. Each
child in Navarro County will see at least two high quality
arts programs per year presented by the Arts council.
- Therapeutic Arts – the Arts Council presents a full
season of arts education at the Texas Youth Commission.
Artists spend
a week working with each and every child. These children
see at least three different visual and performing artists each
school
year.
- Summer Programs – the Navarro Council of the Arts plans,
books and manages all summer camps and concerts for the City
of Corsicana. Children in Corsicana are able to participate
in summer
camps such as Play in the Palace, Fiesta Camp, Music and
Art Camps, and all types of sports camps free of charge. The
community
is
also treated to a variety of free concerts.
- Art Exhibits – For almost thirty years the Navarro
Council of the Arts has presented monthly art exhibits
in the Warehouse
Gallery space. Exhibits include the Annual Quilt Show,
the Annual Heart Gallery with the Navarro Child Advocacy, local
artists along
with Nationally recognized artists.
